I have problems with the module GCalendar upcoming being very slow.

If I disable the module the site loads almost instantly, but if the module is enabled it takes 13-15 seconds to load the site.

The module loads 10 lines from 13 different calendars.

enable caching in the module parameters....does it help?

No, it doesn't help. And caching is also enabled on the site.

I user had 40 calendars and it was working very smooth.....when you go to system delete cache is there a folder like mod_gcalendar_upcoming??

You were right, the problem was with the cache. I increased the cache time in the module, and now it runs without problems.

Pardon my ignorance, I was wondering precisely what the caching does? I'm assuming it caches the data, obviously. The reason I ask this is I have recently been having a problem with going to my site and seeing old dates. As soon as I did a forced refresh with the shift+refresh the dates updated to only the upcoming dates. The cache had been set to 900. I have changed it to no cache. Was this the correct solution to this problem? I just don't want folks coming to the site and seeing old data because of something I might be able to control.
